As we approach the rollout of our Beta to the patient friends on our waitlist, which you should obviously join if you haven't already, we want to give the community an opportunity to have their voices heard.
You're probably thinking something like, "But you're so close to finishing the product, why ask us now?"
Great question. Here's why.
Couples who are managing shared finances together is not a one size fits all situation - we know that much.
So because we are building the de facto solution for young couples who are in committed relationships to manage their shared expenses, we want to learn as much as possible about what challenges you guys are having before launching. Obviously we have a ton of ideas for different ways to help that are going to be super simple, intuitive and straightforward... but we don't know everything.
That's why in the survey, you can tell us stuff like, "if you could have Smoov solve one problem you're having, what would it be?"
We expect a variety of answers here and we're here for all of it.
I came across a twitter thread yesterday about the founder of Notion highlighting their bumpy start to building the unicorn we know them as today - I didn't know this but two years after they launched, they shut down the business and their founder Ivan said, "We focused too much on what we wanted to bring to the world. We needed to pay attention to what the world wanted from us." - See the whole thread here
Ultimately if there's one thing I learned working at Drift, it's that most of the questions you have in life or in business, have already been explored and answered by people before you who were wondering the same thing- this is why the Drift book club became my favorite employee benefit. With that in mind we want to take what Ivan learned about Notion, and apply it to Smoov earlier than later.
